The first thing to do is discuss the design of your reliquary and how it will reflect the character of your animal and relationship, this can be done via email or a phone conversation with Lisa.

Then when we have the design you can send the remains you would like included in the reliquary and payment to Lisa and she will begin the process of creating your reliquary. When it is finished she will send it to you via Registered mail. The process including mailing takes about 3 weeks.

Here is some information about the design of your reliquary to consider.

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
The reliquaries have a front and a back which are divided by an interior piece of metal both sides can contain remains.

The front is made either of a domed piece of metal or glass which can contain remains that could be seen (glass) or not (metal). There is space for text under the glass which is usually partially obscured by remains. If the front is metal text can be placed on the surface of it. Reliquaries which are made out of metal (front and back) can be made in a 3/4” inch diameter. Reliquaries with the glass are limited to 1” diameter size.

The back has a domed piece of metal which can also hold remains, or sometimes people put a little piece of paper there with something they have written or dirt/sand from a favorite place the two of you enjoyed. That domed piece of metal also has room for text.

Artwork there are metal stamps with which I can stamp a design into the metal. You could choose from a star, crescent moon, heart, sun, dog pawprint, and horse. I have also in the past used the letters from the animals name overlapping one another to create a texture in the shape of a heart. (IMAGE) And finally, I can place a silver ball tassel which hangs from the bottom or it can be left as it is without it. A chain is included which is soldered together for safety (no clasp) and which is long enough to slip over your head. It is also possible to make original artwork which is something to discuss with Lisa. There are a lot of options.

Questions
If you could answer the following questions about your reliquary it will give me a good idea of our direction, however, if you feel stuck sometimes it is just easier to talk some of these things through with me which is completely O.K. too.

1. Silver on both sides or glass on one side/metal on the other?
2. What text would you like on one or both sides?
Would you like the silver ball tassel, or without?

MAILING

Mailing Instructions
It is of utmost importance to me that your beloved’s remains arrive safely so that I can make your reliquary, what follows is information to ensure that process. Because remains cannot be replaced, sending them through the mail exposes the sender to minimal risk of loss. The most secure way to send things is by REGISTERED MAIL through the US POSTAL SERVICE, this way they are kept under lock and key through each step in the process of getting them from one place to another, in addition they are signed for by each mail carrier who handles them. Of course the US Postal Service is very secure without this additional security as are other methods of shipping ie: FedEx, UPS, etc.... It is the responsibility of the sender to determine which option is best for them. Note: never send ALL of the remains you have, be sure to keep some if possible. Pet Reliquaries will contact you to let you know that your package has arrived safely and also when your reliquary is finished and when to expect it to arrive. Your reliquary will be sent registered mail back to you and therefore will need to be signed for.
